#NO KIDS IN CAGES

Sometimes we can’t get a point across unless we shout it. That’s why satire exists. Why hyperbole is an effective tool to rise above the noise. A big statement needs to be made about the children we lost at the border. Pictures and think pieces aren’t keeping the fire lit. We needed to show, if not the reality, but the feeling of putting these kids in cells. We need to shout the tragedy in a big highly visible way.

We took the liberty of creating a social campaign highlighting the harsh conditions these children are in by building cages and placing life-size dolls with space blankets. We also added a looped recording of crying from real children detained at the border.

#NO KIDS IN CAGES campaign has been shortlisted for PR WEEK’s inaugural #PurposeAwards for Best Public Awareness Campaign.
